Livestream will be delayed by 2 minutes to allow a time buffer to cut the stream up to two minutes after any event which should not be shown.

Initial operating policy

  • No live streaming – all footage will be reviewed and edited prior to transmission.
  • Individuals will only be shown by positive consent, which can be updated or withdrawn at any time.
  • Any adult failing to give or withholding positive consent will be either blurred, pixelated, or a substitute image used.
  • Children/Young people (aged under 18) will only be shown where a parent or guardian has consented and this is recorded in ChurchSuite.
  • Where either consent is not given, or consent is unknown, children/young people will not be shown by either blurred, pixelated, or a substitute image used.
  • It is intended that only front of church consenting speakers and consenting musicians will be included in video shots.  We will not be making sweeping shots of the congregation in the style popular on Songs of Praise.

Revised operating policy (proposed)

  • Live streaming – a 2 minute transmission has been implemented. On notification, streaming can be paused.
  • Streamed image will be shown on main screen, allowing everyone to see the proposed live stream.
  • Seats which are at risk of being included in transmission will have warning signs added.
  • Before the start of streaming, the view(s) to be streamed will be shown on the main screen. This will allow people to be informed of what will be shown.
  • Seats which are out of scope of the cameras will be available for people who have any concerns for any reason.
  • Individuals will only be shown by positive consent, as recorded in the ChurchSuite database.
  • Children/Young people (aged under 18) will only be shown where a parent or guardian has consented and this is recorded in ChurchSuite.
  • Where either consent is not given, or consent is unknown, children/young people will not be shown. This will require an alternative safe card to be shown. by either blurred, pixelated, or a substitute image used.
  • It is intended that only front of church consenting speakers and consenting musicians will be included in video shots.  We will not be making sweeping shots of the congregation in the style popular on Songs of Praise.

Reason for change

When we restart in-person worship, after this current lockdown period, we would like to immediately start live-streaming of Sunday services.

This will get the church together, as we progress thru Advent.

Making available a live worship time, followed by virtual tea and coffee should be our goal.

With the current operating policy, this would not be possible.

Now that you can see, via the images above, the intended scope of the cameras, and conversely, the amount of the building that will be safe, and not in scope.

Please approve the change in operating policy to allow live-streaming to start immediately.

Otherwise, the system is installed as planned. Additional expenditure as been spent on an additional monitor, and controller devices.

No work has been completed on changing the lights, since this will require new mains wiring in the balconies.

Design work on a permanent mounting for the two camera at rear is underway.

Cabling has been run thru the building for internet and rear cameras.
